Day 15, Sunday August 13, 2017

The itinerary of the day featured Killarney - Blarney - Dungarvan - Tramore.  What it meant was more scenic splendor as we headed into County Cork.  What it meant for me, and for many on the bus was more coughing and feeling under the weather, as well.
We stopped in Blarney, famous for its Stone of Eloquence.  We had a lovely amount of time to see the castle, shop for Irish crafts and have a bite to eat.
I am afraid, dear reader, you will find my eloquence none the richer as dear hubby and I found ourselves much too under the weather to climb to the famed rock of silver tongues....I knew I had a fever, my breathing was labored and Larry was nearly as ill as I.  We wandered about the grounds, had a bite to eat and were actually all too happy to get back on the bus.

Never found out why the trees were so colorfully sweatered.

Jude with one of our bus mates who dressed for the day.  A fun fellow.
After eating, we drove past Cork, the country's second largest city.
Then we passed Dungarvan and travelled along the Copper Coast to the seaside resort of Tramore.

This funny cow watched us closely as we passed by.  She seemed so curious.

Our gorgeous hotel.

Our room, with view!

Our view!

Isn't this pretty?  It was the photo hanging in our room.
After freshening up, those of us who chose to, left the hotel for an optional pub tour before dinner.
We drove for some time and finally pulled up to the house below to pick up our local guide and evening's entertainment.

We'd heard some funny stories about the history of the pub we were headed for, and looked forward to being there in person.

We had the room to ourselves and Richie Roberts was soon regaling us with song and story.

He couldn't have been more gracious in posing for photos with us and in signing our cds.  I've listened to it many, many times since home.
After a nice meal, and a good night's sleep, we enjoyed breakfast in this sunny room and then were off again.
