Day 18 - Wednesday, August 16, 2017

We were to meet up with Welsh friends, Richard and Jois today, and it was with a bit of anxiety that our meet up would work out and a great deal of anticipation that we set out.  It's not the easiest thing to do, managing to make such a plan while on a bus tour.

We took the ferry across the Irish Sea to Holyhead on the Welsh Isle of Anglesey.  We were so enthralled to see even more of Snowdonia National Park than we have seen before.  It is ruggedly fantastic!

Ahh the land of consonants!  Richard easily rolls the name of this place off his tongue...I don't get past the first 5 letters!  We stopped here for a bit of a rest, we had a snack and you can see Jude and Glenn posing their little friend for a picture.

 Pendyffryn
And we met up easily with Richard and Jois in Llangollen.  It was just delightful to be with them again.  We had some tea and conversation and then took quite the hike around and about to see some of the sites Richard was keen to share.  My asthma was at high kilter, so the uphill walk was a chore, but back down was grand!

Larry loves taking pictures of the 3 of us...we are exactly the same height. And don't our smiles look alike?

The Snelsons kindly treated us to a wonderful meal at the Mill Restaurant with lovely views of the waterway.
Our visit was soon at its end, and Richard drove us to our hotel in Wrexham.  At that point my fever was running quite high and all I could think of was "bed"!  I don't even remember saying our thank yous and farewells and next thing I knew it was the next day.
